German development ministry budget grows

The Federal Government plans to make 15% more money available to the Development Ministry (BMZ) next year. According to the government’s budget draft, the BMZ will have 670 million euros more at its disposal in 2008. The additional funding is part of the annual 750 million euro increase in ODA over the next four years promised by Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel ahead of the G8 summit in Heiligendamm. (ell)
